Earth Day 2025: 3 Cities, 3 Tours, and Zero Guilt Adventures
Hey, I’m one of the guides behind the voice you hear on the Wingman app. You know, that friend-in-your-ear helping you find the best local spots, telling you which alley to wander down, and sharing stories you won’t hear on the average walking tour. For Earth Day this year, I wanted to spotlight three of my favorite sustainable routes – each one recorded by me, and all available now on Wingman. These are the tours where we walk more, support local, and leave less behind.

Venice – Beyond the Gondolas
Let’s be real – Venice gets crowded. So for this tour, I wanted to give your feet (and Venice’s foundations) a break. We skip the tourist crush and head to corners where Venetians actually live, laugh, and drink their spritz.
You’ll hear stories as you walk or ride a quiet electric boat along lesser-known canals. I’ll point out the last remaining squero (gondola workshop) that still uses traditional tools. We’ll step into a mask-maker’s shop that uses eco-friendly papier-mâché and duck into a tiny bakery where they’ve banned plastic packaging. If you listen closely, you’ll even catch where to find the best view without standing in line.

Belfast – History with a Refill
This one was a joy to record. I started near Titanic Belfast, but the real gems are tucked into the in-between moments: the indie craft store where you can talk to the maker, the café that composts everything (even the takeaway cups), the university building that looks like it came from a fantasy film set.
As I guide you past Queen’s University and into the Botanic Gardens, I also drop tips on local events, slow fashion spots, and where to grab a plant-based breakfast that doesn’t taste like cardboard. I made sure this route is walkable, snackable, and absolutely stuffed with personality.

Reykjavik – Cool, Conscious, and a Bit Weird
Reykjavik’s tour is all about mixing eco-living with Icelandic flavor. You’ll start with me at a concept store that sells wallets made from salmon skin (trust me, it’s cooler than it sounds), and we’ll cruise through a mix of vintage markets, locally roasted coffee joints, and design-forward spots that only use sustainable materials.
We pass by Harpa, Hallgrímskirkja, and a few lesser-known art spaces you won’t find on the big maps. The tour ends in the city’s botanical garden, where I’ll tell you why Reykjavik banned palm trees (spoiler: they didn’t, but it’s a good story).
